Why we offer this to you ...
Designed from grapes taken of vines which are 40 years old on average. Average yields do not exceed 20 hl per hectare which gives the wine a really high density. Grenache sublime minerality and salinity is very typical of the appellation in such an outstanding vintage.
The grapes are coming from different terroirs representing main areas of Southern Rhône Valley, but situated for the greater part towards Rasteau and Plan de Dieu, thus terroirs of every type: calcareous, clayey, argilo-calcareous, or rocky.
As all of our wines a lot of respect for the product is put into the making of this wine. Each grape variety was fermented separatel, then blended in winter 2010-2011. It has been bottled with a very light filtration. Daily tasting of berries to decide on the optimal date of harvest. Manual grape harvest, sorting and desteming. From harvest to final wine, no brutal manipulations as all transfers are done by gravitation.

What does it taste like ...
This wine is rich in color, ruby dress with crimson reflects.
Its nose is intense and shows red fruits, black fruits, flowers and spices.
On the palate is spacious, very silky, powerful and generous.
Rating 90/100 Parker : "Outstanding and loaded with character, the 2011 Cotes du Rhone checks in as a blend of 65% Grenache, and the rest Mourvedre and Syrah, which comes from a variety of terroirs and very old vines. It's great Cotes du Rhone and gives up classic black cherry, raspberry, licorice, spice and earthy notes as well as medium-bodied richness and depth. Textured, supple and long, it will deliver the goods for 3-4 years at a minimum. Drink now-2018."
We recommend to have it with white and red meat (with sauce or grilled), cheese, spicy or aromatic cuisine with herbs.
