Barbier-Louvet is a very small family owned champagne winery from Tauxières Mutry, Premier cru & Grand Cru.
« Champagne Barbier-Louvet Père et Fils » (Barbier & sons) has been established for 6 generations.
The village of 240 inhabitants with both winegrowing and farming activities, is located in the heart of the Champagne vineyards, 15kms away from Epernay and 20 kms in the South of Reims.
The vineyard is located on the Southern slope of the « Montagne de Reims » ( Reims Mountains), in the « Côte des Noirs ». The family has owned the vineyards for generations and their champagnes are exclusively made from grapes grown in their own vineyards.
Every step of the champagne making process is carried out by the family it self and by hand. Therefore they can guarantee the exceptional quality.
Made of 60 % of Pinot Noir and 40 % of Chardonnay from one single year.
This extraordinary champagne ages for a minimum of 36 months in a cellar.
Only the best grapes form Grand Cru vineyards are used to produce this very special cuvee. The 3 years of compulsory ageing give this champagne a nice golden yellow color and a scent of ripe and intense flavour. Millesime 2010 is round and supple with a long finish which leaves you with amazing slight woody notes on your palate
Enjoy this champagne with someone very special as a companion for a nice long evening or alongside food such as scallops, foie gras, fish in sauce and game.
Customers love this champagne because they get a serious champagne for a price at which usually mass produced champagnes are sold.
