Why we offer this to you ...
The "magic of the terroirs" is the base for this exceptional Chateauneuf du Pape says Xavier Vignon. The extreme selection of grapes from numerous little extremely old vinyards forms the luxurious wine.
After careful separate fermentation of all used grape varieties the wine gets assembled and gets it's fine tuning in new barriques and old foudres.
For us this is the highest form and art of wine making which produces this enormously dense and great Rhone red wine. The 96 Parker Points are more than deserved!
Tasting Notes from Robert Parker:
"Except for Henri Bonneau's 2007 Reserve des Celestins (which is still in barrel), the last 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape to be released will be Xavier Vignon's Anonyme. This sensational wine spent three years in a combination of demi-muids and small oak. It boasts an inky/purple color along with a sweet nose of underbrush, garrigue, licorice, blackberries and black currants. Full, thick, unctuously textured and even flamboyant, this stunning 2007 should drink well for another 15-20 years."
What does it taste like ...
In the glass the wine shows a very dark violet almost black color.
The wide bouquet has an amazing intensity of wild black berries, wood and dark chocolate. It is a real pleasure to just smell the wine.
On the palate as expected it has spicy, strong and a long tannin structure. The wine is amazingly deep in taste and reveal a lot of different layers of flavour. The finish just does not seem to end. This wine just does not want to leave your mouth. What a pleasure...
What is it made of ...

25% of very old Grenache, 25% Mourvedre, 25% Syrah and 25% of "vignes hors d'âge" ("ageless")
