Weingut Kirsten
This winery is located in one of the best locations along the Mosel river. It has vineyards with an incline of up tp 86% requesting hand work only. Bernhard Kirsten is know to consequently ensure the quality of his wines not only in the cellar but mainly in the vineyard. Rigid pruning and picking of the grapes when they are most aromatic are the main criteria of his work. This results in wines that express the Mosel characteristics perfectly.
Even his dry wines do not lose the typoical fruity aromas of the Moselriesling. For us his style so far is unmatched.
Heldensekt (Pöllicher Held)
From the Cru of Pölicher Held comes a Riesling Auslese (selection of grapes) which was turned into a sparkling wine. A minimum of 18 month on yeast produce a very ripe and highly aromatic sparkling wine - a truly exceptional experience.
As all his grapes these were selected by hand and fermented in the classic champagne method. Its amazing structure and elegance make this wine a true competition to high end Champagnes. The finish of Heldensekt is just amazingly long. It has a golden color, ripe Reisling aroma with a fine taste of yeast. It reminds us of apple, pears with fine tones of roasting aromas.
