Initially this wine was made for local consumption only but after we tasted it we asked to get it shipped here :-)
We think it is a very good companion during BBQs or with meat dishes. You get a nice wine for a reasonable price which was made with the same care as the all Olivi wines.
What does it taste like ...
The Primaio is an easy drinking wine has ruby color, intense perfumes, harmonious and complex taste with a good body, tannins are soft. Even though it is strong in alcohol (15%) the alcohol is not prominent.
What is it made of ...
The Primaio is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc and others varieties. The grapes are hand-picked in small boxes then immediately transported to the cellar where they undergo a strict selection, both of the bunches and of the single grapes, on two conveyors.
The grapes are vinified separately in stainless steel tanks with short time maceration of about 10-15 days.
The wines are then aged tanks for 5 months,and then bottled, after 2 months is released.
